- I will allow adults to handle check-in and check-out procedures.
- I will stay in the class and actively engage children in activities as I am able.
- I will participate in classroom activities and large group times (including worship) and not simply observe.
- I will model respect of authority for the children by listening to the storytellers and submitting to adult leadership.
- I will be flexible and move to other rooms as needed.
- I will call or e-mail appropriate ministry staff if I cannot serve when scheduled.
- I will leave all discipline issues to the Classroom Facilitator/Team Coordinator.
- I understand that I am being mentored/trained and will ask the Facilitator or Kids Ministry staff if I have any concerns/questions regarding my role.
- • I understand that I will begin with a 4-month probation period and if during that time, my supervisors have concerns with me not adequately fulfilling my role as noted above, it will be discussed with me and my parent(s). An extended probation period may be granted at that time. If the results are not satisfactory to Kids Ministry staff, I will then graciously agree to be removed from serving in Kids Ministry.

We want to be as up front with you as we can about the time requirements of youth ministry. We want our leaders to be present through the entire year to build and establish a great relationship with students, which involves a great deal of consistent time spent at youth and events. Life is rough, things change, we are flexible, but we want committed godly leaders pouring themselves into our students. So think through these questions and click the ones you can agree with:
- This ministry requires approximately 4 hours every Wednesday from September to the end of May. Are you able to be at youth each week?
- There will also be 2 camps and potentially 5-6 events through the year, as well as personal time spent with students. Are you able to meet this requirement?
- Given the public nature of this ministry, and that you will be an example to younger believers, it will require abstinence from the public use of alcohol or tobacco, and no pictures of such activities can be visible on Facebook or Twitter or other social media (we aren’t legalists, but we are an example to youth, and we will explain more in our training time together, but we want to be up front).
