About David Van Pelt

Elder

I am so thankful that my parents raised me in a Christian home. This blessing is incalculable, and I think about it often. I became a Christian at a young age, but I’ve had spiritual struggles over a good part of my life. Thankfully, God took care of me and helped me through that. he continues to do so. The statement of “Jesus is the only way,” becomes more and more powerful as I get older, with each passing year.

My wife Tanya and I got married in 1999 and we have three children: Tyler, Nicole, and Emma. I’m grateful that God blessed us with children as I realize this dream is not always possible for everyone. Although our children are getting into the young adult stage, we still have a responsibility to them and for them.

My day job is a bookkeeper, and I enjoy going on long walks, playing board games, and spending time with my family.

One of my favourite Bible verses is, “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the early to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him…” (2 Chronicles 16:9). My hope is that when the Lord’s eyes rest on me, He is pleased with me, and I look forward to one day hearing Him say: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
